My First Month with A Husky Puppy (watch this before getting one)

The video

A new owner looks back on the first month with a husky puppy: "Both the good parts & struggles of having an adorable, but chaotic new husky puppy in my life." The subtitle, "watch this before getting one," is really the whole pitch. It's five minutes of honest reality for anyone who's on the fence.

Meet the dog and the channel

Samy Moras's channel had about 65,800 subscribers when we checked in November 2026. The description links to a site called Life with Snow Dogs and its "My First Husky Puppy" checklist, plus an Instagram account, @LifewithSnowDogs. The description also mentions "a slow feeder for Leo," so Leo appears to be one of the household's dogs. We couldn't confirm from the description whether Leo is the puppy in this video, so we haven't said so. [Flagged for review: confirm the puppy's name.]

How it blew up

The video went up on September 11, 2020, and had about 1.14 million views when we checked in November 2026. That's more than 17 views per subscriber. "First month with a puppy" videos are a big search category, especially for huskies, which a lot of people get because of their looks. We didn't find any press coverage.

Our take: anyone thinking about a husky puppy should watch this, then reread the subtitle. "Watch this before getting one" is good advice.

The husky science behind it

The first month with a husky puppy is usually a mix of three things. Chewing comes with teething and exploring, and husky puppies are especially mouthy. Night waking happens because a young puppy can't hold its bladder all night. And there's the beginning of real independence. This is also the heart of the socialization window. What a puppy meets calmly in the first few months (people, dogs, cars, nail trims) has an outsized effect on the adult dog.

A practical tip

Make a "socialization bingo" card for the first month: 50 people of different ages and looks, 10 calm adult dogs, 5 surfaces, car rides, the vet's lobby, the hair dryer, nail clippers. Keep each experience short and positive, and pair it with treats. It's the cheapest behavioral insurance you'll ever buy.
