How To Train A Siberian Husky - 5 Easy Steps!

The video

Sixty Formula, one of the longest-running husky channels on YouTube, reduces husky training to five steps. It's a beginner's video: practical basics for someone who has just brought a husky home and is starting to realize the dog has opinions. Its description sums up the audience well: "training a husky... training malamutes. training german sheperds."

Meet the dog and the channel

Sixty Formula had about 1.34 million subscribers when we checked in November 2026. That makes it one of the biggest channels in the breed niche. Its videos are about life with Siberian Huskies, from training and gear to "the truth about owning one." The description lists a P.O. box in Jacksonville, Florida, for fan mail and gifts, along with the channel's favorite grooming tools. Four of the 40 videos in this collection come from Sixty Formula, because it keeps making the beginner videos people actually search for.

How it blew up

The video went up on May 7, 2019, and had about 623,000 views when we checked in November 2026. That isn't viral. It's a steady evergreen video, the kind people find by searching "how to train a husky" the week after they bring one home. We didn't find any press coverage, and a video like this doesn't need it.

Our take: five steps won't turn a husky into a golden retriever, and the video doesn't pretend they will. What it gets right is the order: build motivation and basic manners first, then expect reliability, and that's the part most new owners skip.

The husky science behind it

Huskies have a reputation as untrainable, but that isn't quite right. They're bred for independent work: a sled team in front of the musher has to make some decisions on its own. That's why a husky asks "what's in it for me?" more openly than a retriever does. They learn fast and lose interest just as fast. Short sessions, rewards they actually care about and lots of variety beat long, repetitive drills.

A practical tip

Train before meals, not after. A hungry husky is a motivated husky. Keep sessions to five minutes, end on a win, and change up the rewards: kibble for easy tasks, real chicken for hard ones like recall. If your husky walks away mid-session, the session was too long, not the dog too dumb.
