Husky Won't Stop TALKING Until He Gets His Waffles! Demanding Dog!
The video
Jodie is making waffles for a different video. K'eyush doesn't care about that. He wants waffles now, and he says so loudly, in the long, insistent woo-woo monologue that made him famous. The description explains: "I was making these for a different video, but Key didn't care, he wanted them NOW!"
Meet the dog and the channel
K'eyush the Stunt Dog was a husky-malamute mix owned by Jodie Barnard of Brixham, Devon, England. In 2017 the New York Post and Metro covered him for being comically bad at fetch, and he went on to become one of YouTube's best-known dog personalities, with about 2.14 million subscribers when we checked in November 2026. The description also links to his best friend Sherpa's channel and to Jodie's second channel, Jodie Boo. Sadly, K'eyush died suddenly in February 2025, and Jodie posted a tribute video that month.
How it blew up
The video went up on January 20, 2020, and had about 3.5 million views when we checked in November 2026. That puts it among the channel's stronger uploads, though the dog-translator video later that year did even better (that one has about 29.7 million). Early 2020 was K'eyush's peak talking era. We didn't find press coverage of this particular video.
Our take: no one has ever wanted a waffle more than K'eyush wanted this one. It's peak K'eyush, and peak husky. If your husky has ever yelled at you over toast, you'll feel very seen. This is a good one to rewatch whenever you miss him.
The husky science behind it
This is demand vocalizing, and huskies are world-class at it. The dog wants something, makes noise, and the noise sometimes works. Because it sometimes works, it gets stronger. Behaviorists call it intermittent reinforcement, and it's the same reason slot machines are addictive. K'eyush clearly had plenty of waffle-related success in his past.
A practical tip
Never pay off the yelling, and do pay off the quiet. Wait for a pause (even two seconds counts at first), then mark it and reward it. Teach a "settle" on a mat during cooking. Know that the yelling usually gets worse before it gets better, so ride out the spike.
